Game of Thrones Wedding in Iceland

Updated: Apr 30, 2020

Game of Throne enthusiasts Monica and Ben came to Pink Iceland and we were very excited when they told us they wanted a Game of Thrones themed wedding. They were brilliant in adding GOT elements to their seating chart, invitations, wedding favours and even the wedding cake. When they were leaving the hotel on the morning of their wedding and all the guests were dressed in GOT themed outfits the lobby staff even played the Game of Thrones theme song as they walked out.

They got married in Thingvellir national park in the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, a location you know well from the show as the entrance to Eyrie.

Haukur the Nordic Chieftain performed their wedding ceremony which was completed not only with a kiss but also drinking from the horn. Then the happy newlyweds took pictures with their friends and family around the national park. Their reception venue fitted right into the theme, Ingólfsskáli Viking lodge with it's wooden tables and chairs and their shot glasses are even small horns.

The cutting of the cake had to be carefully orchestrated as not to harm the dragon, at least at first.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your Iceland Wedding dear Monica & Ben
