We say it a lot: in Iceland luxury is more about what you experience, where you go and how you feel doing it as opposed to thread counts and counting hotel stars. And for the Pink Iceland team as Iceland Wedding planners it's an inspiring feeling guiding our couples helping them make decisions about their very own Iceland Wedding adventures and experiencing our luxury! Planning D&L's adventurous off the beaten path elopement was no exception, what an enjoyable process with the kindest couple. 'When my husband and I decided to get married in Iceland, Pink Iceland was the first planning agency that we spoke with and we were immediately sold. We had a video chat with Birna and she was not only super sweet and friendly but immediately understood what we wanted to do and had ideas ready to go. The whole planning process was so smooth and easy – we got to make all of the “fun” decisions while Birna and the rest of the Pink team took care of the nitty gritty details. We told Birna that we wanted something more adventurous and off-the-beaten-track and she planned for us the most wonderful wedding adventure in the Highlands. As we wanted a family member to officiate the wedding, Birna took us to the magistrate's office in Reykjavik prior to the ceremony to complete the paperwork. She also guided us through all of the paperwork and answered our many questions in the months leading up to the wedding.
The ceremony day itself was more perfect than either of us could have imagined. We had Hafsteinn with us on the day-of and he was fantastic, always making sure that we had enough to eat, drink and were warm enough, as well as telling us interesting facts and anecdotes about the sights we were seeing and about Iceland in general. Arni accompanied our guests in a separate vehicle and made sure they were well looked after - our guests had nothing but nice things to say! Apparently, we were a bit behind the original schedule and rain impacted some of the locations we had planned to visit, but neither us nor our guests even noticed. Hafsteinn and Arni rearranged the day and order of locations that we visited on the fly and it worked out perfectly – it’s clear that the team was extremely prepared, with not only Plan A but also Plans B through Z as well. The picnic following the ceremony was amazing (I’m still dreaming about the Kransakaka) and we had back-up packed lunches in case we got hungry later on. Kristin Maria was our photographer for the day and she was absolutely brilliant – very clear with her directions (important for people who are not used to being professionally photographed!) and clearly very talented (see photos with review). She was so kind, genuine and easy to work with, and the pictures turned out incredible. Lastly, Pink also organized for us and our guests a 3-day tour of the South Shore, which was guided by Arni. This was also fantastic and Arni seemed to know everything about everything!
Overall, we can’t recommend Pink Iceland highly enough. The entire team is so kind, easy to get along with and so good at what they do. If you’re looking for a unique wedding adventure with low planning stress, Pink Iceland is definitely the way to go! Thank you again to Birna and the whole team for making our wedding day truly one of the best days of our lives.'
