Bonnie and Gene are an amazing and kind couple we had the honour of planning an Iceland wedding for. They brought 30 close friends and family to Iceland and together they experienced a beautiful wedding weekend with visits to the Blue Lagoon, group dinners and a wonderful reception.
It's our pleasure to share with you their story in photos by their super star Iceland Wedding Photographer Kristín María.
Bonnie and Gene and their wonderful guests embarked on a true travel adventure after the wedding exploring the South Shore of Iceland, visiting glaciers, walking behind waterfalls and gazing upon black beaches and out of this world Northern lights.
Before the wedding ceremony the couple headed on an adventure with their photographer to a geothermal area close to Reykjavik with a very well hidden waterfall.
Even though we're not a fan of the average photobomber, especially ones in the wedding photos but there are always exceptions to the rules. Our favourite guest stars ever sneaking their way into Iceland Wedding photos are the animals, whether it be an Icelandic horse, a cute dog, birds or like in this case Sheep!
Iceland is by so many considered the perfect place for wedding photography as it's colours and the drama provided by the nature are so beautiful, just look at the smoke coming from the mountain hills.
This waterfall is a hidden gem so close to the city.
Wedding florals created by our talented florist Þórdís, she's such a kind and magical person all around, a real hugger that creates wedding bouquets, boutonnieres and wedding decor based on the couples vision.
The Wedding photo adventure continued on the way to Strandakirkja church with a stop at Krýsuvíkurbjarg ocean cliffs.
Intimate moments before the ceremony.
As sometimes happens the weather didn’t exactly co-operate on the day and we were unable to get Bonnie and Gene married outside by Kleifarvatn Lake as had been the original plan. As always the Pink Iceland team has a Plan B in case of adverse weather and we moved the ceremony into one of Iceland’s most beautiful church, Strandakirkja where pastor Egill married them in an emotional and heartfelt ceremony.
You may kiss the bride!
Congratulations Newlyweds!
Happy moments outside the church, the views are so beautiful!
Ingólfsskáli Viking restaurant is the perfect place for an Iceland Wedding Reception, unique setting, excellent food, dance floor and a stage for the party after dinner.
First dance magic.
Thank you B&G for choosing Pink Iceland as your Iceland Wedding Planner!
