M & Q share a love that’s just like the forces of nature, strong and sustaining but equally gentle and spontaneous. Naturally, it only made sense to get married in a country where nature shows you her every side and often changes in a split second. M & Q wanted something extra unique, something magnificent, so Sólheimajökull glacier became the ceremony location of choice.

These wonderful grooms started by getting ready while the rain poured on their igloo apartment on the south coast. One thing to know about this couple is that before their wedding day, they went to see a psychic and tarot reader who told them that there was an exact timeframe during this date that they should get married, and when you are already following the forces of nature, why not listen to every advice you can when it comes to the perfect timing.
M & Q did a first look moment outside their charming igloo lodge on the South Coast.
As the time came to gather into the cars and begin the route to Sólheimajökull, the rain was still pouring, and the wedding party started to lose hope in the “perfect timeframe”. But when the group's crampons touched the ice, the sun came out, just like predicted. The walk up to a newly formed ridge in the glacier was adventurous and scenic.
M&Q got married within blue ice walls as their friends, dressed in the Icelandic color scheme teared up over beautiful vows and touching words by Hildur, the officiant. The impact of the natural forces didn't stop here, as the grooms said their I do’s and leaned into the first kiss, gusts of wind filled the glacial ridge, for dramatic effect.
And now, let's pour some bubbles! No need for a cooler as the glacial walls and floor keep the prosecco extra cool.
To warm up, the group stopped by at Skálakot for extra special coffee and a peak in the horse barn where M felt right at home as he works with horses back in the US.
Now that the rain was pouring and the grooms had been warmed up by coffee and horse hugs, nothing made more sense than to run in the rain up to a cinematic waterfall.
The group's day ended back at the lodge with an indoor picnic made up of all the Icelandic treats one could want - and personalized, brennivín filled flasks!
Thank you M&Q for the trust and for the endless joy and love you shared with us! We feel so honored to have been a part of this adventure with you.
